Wally Dutton bought the shop in 1971 when he was just a youngster! He can remember when there was 3 other butchers shops in the village. He is the last remaining butcher in the village. In 1986 he under took a major refit of the shop, where he discovered that the shop was in fact a stable before it was the local bakery!

Wally trained as a animal grader for the Meat and Livestock Commission before coming a butcher, which now stands him well in his dealings with the local farmers where he buys some of his stock.

The shop currently makes a lot of its own produce, Sausages, Burgers, Cooked Meat, Stir n fry, Meatballs and Black Pudding to name a few items. We also supply local Golf Courses, Community Shops, Pubs, Nurseries and Restaurants. In 2009 we started a pilot project for Cheshire West and Chester Council’s Local Food for Primary Schools which we were very proud to supply until February 2016. We still proudly supply Kelsall Community Primary, Boughton Heath Primary and Bishop Heber High School Malpas, as well as supporting local PTA’s.
